Fountain Valley isnt just "A Nice Place to Live" as its modest motto suggests. This wonderful little city of ours is also a great place to work, play, learn and raise a family. Fountain Valley is a friendly, peaceful community, with tree-lined streets and afternoon ocean breezes. We are in the heart of the best the county has to offer, nestled in a well-planned city of upper-middle class homes, with the beautiful beaches less than five short miles away. We are next door to UC Irvine, a world-class university, the amazing Orange County Performing Arts Center where you can catch the New York City Ballet, Rent, and Disneys The Lion King, and dont forget shopping at South Coast Plaza. And I still havent mentioned the three major harbors, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, the Orange County Fairgrounds, and the Orange County Museum of Art. I would also check out the Pacific Amphitheater or the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater where you can see acts like Sting, Reba McEntire, Santana and The Dave Matthews Band. Let me tell you, you wont want to miss a thing. 
The jewel of Fountain Valley is Mile Square Regional Park , one of the citys 17 parks. Mile Square Regional Park is a lovely 640 acre spread for play or lounging, with three regulation golf courses, two regulation soccer fields, baseball and softball diamonds, an archery range and a wilderness area. Also, there are two fishing lakes, bikes and paddleboats, and lots of huge picnic areas. Grab your picnic and a spot in the grass for one of my favorite events, the Concerts in the Park series in July. Weve had everything from surfer dudes to Big Band and Swing. Other great events include Silky Sullivan's Run for the Roses, the not-too-strenuous 5K to benefit Fountain Valley High School sports; the Family Halloween Party and Carnival with a costume contest for kids. Fountain Valley is also the setting for the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, and the Orange County Special Olympics, where we host the roller-skating, softball and bowling events. In Fountain Valley its possible to flex whatever muscle you like, because in addition to everything else, the city also provides a 55 acre recreation center with lighted tennis courts; basketball and volleyball courts; softball field; gym facilities; and a senior center, to name a few.

The Fountain Valley School District has a history of academic excellence. Students consistently score in the upper ranges of achievement when compared to other students in California and the nation. Our schools, programs, and students have won county, state, and national awards and are frequently highlighted in newspaper articles. In Fountain Valley you can count on strong parental support and involvement and a staff of experienced, enthusiastic professionals, which is so crucial to the success of our children. Curriculum is reviewed and revised regularly and reflects a balance of basic skills and challenging enrichment programs and opportunities. In my opinion, one of the greatest achievements of the schools in Fountain Valley is the incorporation of technology at every school including at least one computer in each classroom to access online learning.

Irvine is the Headquarters of major companies like St. John Knits Inc, Billabong USA, Langdon Wilson Architecture, Mazda North America and South Coast Commercial Bank.
