Aliso Viejo

In Aliso Viejo living well comes easily. The city makes it possible to live, work and play all in the same community.  Aliso Viejo is a vibrant place to create a home or to raise a family.  We love our community, and one of the great things about living in Aliso Viejo is that you are in the heart of the best the county has to offer, being a stones throw from the gorgeous coast, excellent shopping at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza, and world-class entertainment and culture at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, the Orange County Museum, Laguna Museum of Art, and concerts at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.  Living in Aliso Viejo there isnt anything you cant do, in fact youll probably want to do it all. Aliso Viejo is blossoming, its a place where there is still room to find a home.

With weather like Orange Countys, you will want to soak up the sun as much as possible, and Aliso Viejo makes that easy.  Parks, green belts, landscaped slopes and parkways all offer great places to walk and play.  Fifty-one percent of the city is open land or parks.  With a total of 23 parks in all, you wont have any trouble finding room to get some fresh air. The Aliso Viejo City Council is very supportive of sustaining the Aliso Viejo Community Association's role in providing excellent recreational programs. In Aliso Viejo you can take part in sports and other activities, and there are plenty of opportunities for kids to participate in children's leagues.  With options like a Youth Commission for Teens, dance classes, CPR training, Summer Youth Drop-In park programs, youth sport camps, tennis lessons, T'ai Chi, dog obedience, adult and youth golf lessons and yoga, there really is something for everyone.  For different scenery, try The Aliso and Wood Canyon Regional Park, a 3,400-acre regional wilderness park featuring scenic canyons, rock formations, oak and sycamore groves, a fresh water marsh and miles of some of the county's finest hiking and biking trails. The Laguna Coast Wilderness Park is equally gorgeous.  Here you can enjoy lush, sycamore-shaded canyons and high ridges offering views of the Pacific Ocean.  Let me tell you, its a spectacular environment for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.  Aliso Viejo is also only a short drive away from the Laguna Niguel Regional Park, which features a stocked lake for fishing and boating.  If youre looking to work on your golf game, I recommend the Aliso Viejo Golf Club.  It was designed by the great father-and-son duo, Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II, and provides three nine-hole designs to allow golfers the opportunity to play the course again and again without the feeling of repetition. And of course, what would life in Orange County be without our gorgeous beaches. Aliso Viejo is a short 10-minute drive to Laguna Beach and about 15 minutes from Newport Beach along the famed Highway 1. These beaches are some of the most beautiful sands in Southern California.  Whether you play volleyball, sail, fish, swim, or just want to relax with the family, the beaches provide a nearby escape for those who want to take advantage of the California lifestyle.

Aliso Viejo is very much about creating a community that is able to access the things that make life rich.  Community events are great at bringing families and the community together.   Aliso Viejo offers several ways to enjoy this kind of coming together.  The Community Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast is geared toward children and their parents with activities including an egg hunt and egg-decorating contest, pony rides, a bounce house, petting zoo and a visit from the Easter Bunny.   Concerts in the Park are a great way to spend some time in the outdoors during the spring and summer months.  Concerts are held three Sundays a month in Grand Park's outdoor amphitheater. Check out a variety of folk, blues, jazz, rock, country-western, big band and swing.   The Fourth of July is always a popular favorite, with a patriotic bike ride for children, food, game booths, train rides, a petting zoo, pony rides, a bounce house and a reptile booth. Three concerts will play throughout the evening, including jazz, big band and a full symphony orchestra. And of course, you wont want to miss the fireworks.  Then we have the Halloween Costume Parade and contest; everyone who participates gets a participation ribbon.  Then at Christmas, my favorite holiday, we have Santa's Arrival and Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony where we enjoy a Christmas tree lighting, dance and choral performances and visits from Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and, of course, Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  In December at Grand Park, children can visit Santa Claus and his elves at their workshops and watch them build toys. They can even leave their letters to Santa in "Santa's Mailbox."  For an educational afternoon try the Museum of Natural Science & History. For date night and great classical music try the South Coast Symphony.

Aliso Viejo has a public school system of aptly named "smart schools." With new modern facilities, state-of-the-art technological systems, innovative curricula and dedicated teachers, its hard to go wrong.  Young learners have a great opportunity to get ahead and succeed in education.  Aliso Niguel High School, Aliso Viejo Middle SchoolWood Canyon Elementary, Foxborough Elementary, and Aliso Viejo's newest school, Oak Grove Elementary are all part of the acclaimed Capistrano Unified School District.  Aliso Niguel High School is one of the most sophisticated high school learning centers on the West Coast. It features: fiber optic technology, academic and performing arts classrooms, a media center, gymnasium, theatre center, swim and dive complex, stadium with football, track and field, baseball and softball fields and soccer fields, six tennis courts and seven outdoor basketball/volleyball courts.  Several of Aliso Viejos schools have been named as California Distinguished Schools.

Aliso Viejo has quickly become one of Orange County's fastest growing business hubs.  This is due in part to Aliso Viejos business friendly demeanor, its strategic location and the community being a desirable place to live and work. Moreover, technology companies increasingly want to be where skilled workers are interested in living and working.  Aliso Viejo is home to companies such as the Fluor Corporation, Qlogic, Tamiya America, Soka University, Remedy, Safeguard, United Parcel Service, Shea Properties, and Myrient, Inc.  Aliso Viejo is strategically located along the San Joaquin Hills Corridor (Highway 73), which connects Aliso Viejo directly to the I-5, San Juan Capistrano to the south, John Wayne Airport, South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island to the north. Aliso Viejo is approximately 10 minutes from John Wayne Airport and approximately 50 miles from Los Angeles International Airport. It is approximately four miles from the Irvine AMTRAK station and six miles from the San Juan Capistrano AMTRAK station. We really are in the center of everything and with communities like ours, its no wonder why so many people want to be in Aliso Viejo.   Living and working in Aliso Viejo has afforded me the luxury of being able to drop the kids off at school on the way to work and have lunch with my spouse during the day.

Aliso Viejo truly is a wonderful place to live, work and play.  There isnt a  better way to live your dreams than by making Aliso Viejo your home.
