In Laguna Woods there is always great things to do.  Leisure World is home to six clubhouses, a theater, rooms for hobbies and games, weight training and meetings, five swimming pools, hot pools, two fitness centers, a gym, a 27- hole golf course and a nine-hole par-3 executive course, a driving range, putting greens, an equestrian center and an eight-court tennis complex.  For the culturally inclined, there's an arts and crafts center, library, two garden centers, a historical society, more than 200 service clubs, on-site classes offered by the Recreation Division and Saddleback College's Emeritus Institute.  The Saddleback Colleges Emeritus Institute provides a unique educational opportunity for the pursuit of lifelong learning and is specifically designed for older adults.  With so much activity its easy to meet new people and see friends.  The only problem is there arent enough hours in the day to do it all.  The Leisure World Equestrian Center is an excellent community asset.  It provides horses, guided trail rides and instruction for those not so familiar with riding.  There are great special events, including horsemanship camps, horse shows, and cookouts. Twilight trail rides are also great fun. The center really offers a quiet bit of country serenity.  For those working on their golf game, Laguna Woods, is a golfers paradise offering a challenging championship 27-hole golf course, and a nine-hole three par executive course.  Unlike hot desert resorts in Palm Springs and Phoenix, Laguna Woods golfers enjoy the comfort of moderate year-round temperatures.  The country-club quality course with rolling terrain, sand-guarded greens, and reasonable fees, makes the courses a great bargain for residents and their guests.  In addition to all this, there are a host of other activities going on.  Just a sample of the variety of activities available are tours, dinners, ice cream socials, every kind of dancing, arts and crafts classes, studio workshops and exhibitions, bridge and other card games, billiards, and gardening.  For those interested in a little local history the Leisure World Historical Society might be the place for you.  This state-of-the-art facility houses a treasure trove of photos, documents, videos, films, newspapers, collections and memorabilia.

One of the greatest things about Laguna Woods is the amazing sense of community.  Community events really help foster that great sense of community and that is something folks who live here enjoy.  The Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Horse Parade is a springtime favorite. Music is another great way to come together and the Summer Concert Series offers an excellent opportunity to do just that.  This popular event showcases live music in a gorgeous outdoor setting. The Aquadettes show brings more fun entertainment as Leisure World's synchronized swimmers hold an annual "Follies."  The event features the ladies in innovative costumes performing original water choreography to a wide range of music from classical to contemporary to show tunes.  Top-name stars display their unique talents ranging from musical concerts and cabaret shows to dramas for the Celebrity Series with previous performers including Tony Bennett and The Inkspots.
