If you are looking for an exclusive community that demands the highest standards of living, then Corona Del Mar is for you.  Corona Del Mar is its own unique neighborhood, within the fabulous city of Newport Beach.  Spanish for "Crown of the Sea, " Corona Del Mar has the charm of a small seaside village, with an added dash of privilege, and the luxury of being off the beaten path.  Many of the homes here are secluded, away from major streets and highways, something people here appreciate, something unmatched in Orange County, and the reason a number of celebrities choose to call Corona Del Mar home.  There isnt a bad seat in the house; Corona Del Mar is on the seaward face of the San Joaquin Hills and is home to some of most prestigious estates in Orange County.  The Gold Coast, as it is often called, is a long stretch of sand and sea that will be your view as well as your backyard, should you join the exclusive Corona Del Mar community. We enjoy additional charms, like the tide pools at sunset, quiet beaches, and the view at Inspiration Point.  Each street in Corona Del Mar is named after a different flower, and runs in alphabetical order from Acacia to Poppy, each lined with a different variety of tree.  Beautiful flower gardens on each street display the flower the street is named after. 


We also enjoy all the advantages of Newport Beach, such as fine dining, world class-shopping at Fashion Island with stores like Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus, a bit of art and culture at the Orange County Museum of Art, and The Newport Beach International Film Festival.  The weather is unrivaled, the beauty of the homes unsurpassed, and the privileged lifestyle superb.  We take sumptuous living seriously here.

Corona del Mar Beach is actually made up of two beaches, Little Corona and Big Corona, separated by a cliff.  Big Corona is the perfect family spot, with mild waves for young swimmers, while Little Corona, a few blocks south is my favorite tide pool spot.  If youre looking for great snorkeling and scuba diving, try the many small, rugged coves between Crystal Cove State Park and Laguna Beach.   Crystal Cove State Park, located just south of Corona Del Mar, offers a landscape different from that of almost any other park in Orange County. It is mostly open grassland, open hills with minimal trees, contains more than three miles of sandy coves and beaches, grassy terraces and wooded canyons, and 18 miles of hiking trails.  Surf, dive, snorkel, visit the tide pools as the sun sets, or check out Newport Bay and Catalina Island from Inspiration Point, you wont be disappointed

  

Just like Newport Beach, we have many ways to relax and enjoy the good life here.  Newport Beach is home to exclusive clubs like The Players Club at the Pelican Hill Golf Club, Newport Harbor Yacht Club, Palisades Tennis Club, and the lush Newport Beach Country Club, which is home to the Toshiba Senior Classic, a PGA champions tour event.  This year we saw Tom Watson, Hale Irwin and Chi Chi Rodriguez, in person and on television, as the event was broadcast nationally on The Golf Channel.

 

The community events are a great way to meet new people.  Catch up with your neighbors as you try to catch your breath at the Corona Del Mar Scenic 5K.  The race finishes along the bluffs of Big Corona State Beach with restaurant row, merchant booths and live entertainment.  One of my favorite events is The Baroque Music Festival of Corona del Mar.  The annual event presents a five-concert series including orchestral, organ and choral performances at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Sherman Gardens.  The Sherman Gardens and Library itself is a great place for a stroll and to learn about the history of Corona Del Mar.  The Gardens provide a museum of living plants, displayed amidst a setting of immaculate gardens, patios and conservatories linked together by wide brick walkways, beds blooming with seasonal flowers and bubbling tile fountains. The Library is a specialized research center devoted to the study of the Pacific Southwest.  Another hot spot is the Annual Sandcastle Contest, which has been a popular tradition for 40 years now.  In addition, The Corona Del Mar Coastline Car Classic at Crystal Cove is a must see for car buffs with show cars from distinguished European and American Classics to racy street rods, sports cars and custom Woodys.  Orange County has one of the best school district in the United States. The Orange County School District has the highest, Math and Verbal SAT scores in Southern California, the lowest dropout rate and the lowest crime rate.  Corona del Mar schools are part of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, which enjoys the distinction of scoring in the 80-90th percentile, and some in the high 90s. 
 

We play a lot in Corona Del Mar, but when its time to get down to business there is no place like Orange County, and especially Newport Beach.
