Stanton

Stanton is a little city with a big heart.  We are a community with a great sense of pride in our city and our county.  In recent years Stanton, now three square miles with over 38,000 residents, has experienced rapid growth in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors, creating a balanced community, with a deep sense of pride in its accomplishments.  The Stanton Redevelopment Agency has been extremely successful in improving the quality of life in the City through revitalization of its commercial and residential areas. Through public-private partnerships, major new developments have been attracted to Stanton, which promise to sustain the city for years to come.

One of the best things about Stanton, is its great location.  We are near great schools in Fullerton, also known as "The Education Community," with five colleges and universities, including Cal State Fullerton, Fullerton College, a law school and two other private schools.  We are near fantastic entertainment in Anaheim, home to the world famous Disneyland and the Disney California Adventure, two professional sports teams, the Anaheim Angels baseball team and the Mighty Ducks hockey team, as well as great musical venues like the Arrowhead Pond, the House of Blues and The Grove of Anaheim.  We are also close to gorgeous beaches in Seal Beach.  For a great day of horse racing Stanton is a few minutes away from the Los Alamitos Race Course with world-class Quarter Horse, Arabian, Thoroughbred, Paint and Appaloosa racing.  Stantons close proximity to Los Angeles and Long Beach allows residents easy access to great cultural and sporting events as well as excellent shopping that the two large cities have to offer.

For local good times, Stanton has its share.  Golf fans ought to feel right at home at Chills Action Golf owned by Chill Will, who has golfed professionally. With a driving range and Chill gives some lessons.  Murals on the ranges wall feature scenes from great golf courses around the world.  Adventure City is the perfect place for kids.  Theres a miniature train for kids, a vintage carousel and a few other roller coasters for kids.  The Petting Zoo is very popular and kids can hold chickens, rabbits and pet goats.  Older kids may enjoy the small videogame arcade.  Adjacent to Adventure city is Hobby City where you can find averything from teddy bears to model cars.  The DeArmonds Doll and Toy Museum is housed in a replica of the White House.  Also located on this 10 acre center for the hobbiest, is the Bear Tree store which opted for a building that, you guessed it, looks like a cozy sequoia tree that Yogi Bear would visit.  For local theater, the Stanton Community Theater has been presenting comedies and dramas for 22 years.  The volunteer theater produces three plays each year with everything from light mysteries to comedies.

Wherever you live in Orange County, you are always close to a great career.    Orange County enjoys a healthy economy and Stanton is no exception.  Orange County ranks 3rd nationally in median household income, ranks 14th nationally in retail sales and buying power, and we also enjoy an unemployment rate well below the national average.  Just a few of the companies that call Stanton home include Orco Block Company, a concrete-block manufacturer, and Western Highway Products, a sign manufacturer, and All Metals Processing. The largest employer is CR&R Inc., a recycling environmental management company with more than 500 employees.  Closeby, Buena Park is home to top employers like Nutrilite Products, Leach International North America, Pepsi, Yamaha of America, Amada America Inc., NorthStar Moving Corporation and Snyder Langston.

Orange County is home to some of the most beautiful weather anywhere in the country, if you like sunshine and moderate climate all year round, Orange County is the place for you.  The city of Stanton offers great ways to get out and stay active with many classes, programs and events.  Stanton's new summer excursion series offers residents short getaways during the long, hot days of the season.  Trips to Angels baseball games, miniature golf and water slide parks and the Science Center in Santa Ana are recurring favorites.  Summer camps are great at keeping kids busy during their break, and Stanton offers camps for activities such as soccer, ballet and martial arts.  Within Stantons 3 square miles, residents enjoy 2 recreation centers, 4 parks, 1 sports facility and one school-based program site.  In Stanton you can create, learn and play.

Stanton is a great place to get an excellent education.  Schools in the Garden Grove Unified School District have been rated as some of the best and safest in the county.  The school programs focus on student achievement, high standards, and opportunities for all students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to lead productive lives.  Students participate in a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum.  The community is proud of the great achievements of our local school system and after two consecutive years as a finalist for the nations top education prize, this third year has paid the richest dividend for our Garden Grove Unified School District.  The district recently accepted $500,000 for scholarships as the winner of the 2004 Broad Prize for Urban Education, the annual $1-million award honoring the most outstanding urban school systems in America.   We are now a national symbol of educational improvement and innovation.  It truly is the dedication, caring, and never ending pursuit of quality education opportunities and academic growth that earned this prize.  It is a product of teachers, students, parents and community working together to benefit all students in the district.  Now more deserving students than ever will have an opportunity for a college education that they might not otherwise have had.

For good fun, Stanton offers special events throughout the year, often geared toward holidays such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas.  For Easter, the kids are invited to the Cottontails Workshop for a day with the famed bunny.  Kids also can participate in an Easter Egg hunt and watch a magician do tricks right in front of their eyes.  The Summerfest & Business Expo has a little something for everybody in Stanton.  Its an end-of-summer celebration, a block party and a business mixer with bands for adults, pony rides and other carnival games for the kids and Stanton businesses showing off their wares and services.  A few thousand show up for this big festival each year.  For the St. Polycarp Fiesta the local Catholic Church has been hosting a carnival for more than 30 years.  The fiesta offers foods and music from cultures around the world.  Bring your appetite for Vietnamese food, Filipino delicacies and traditional Mexican meals.  Special entertainment includes music from the churchs Vietnamese choir as well as a visit from folklorico dance troupes, and carnival rides for the kids.  Grab the kids and your favorite get-up for the Halloween Howl party.  Monsters wait outside the civic center for children who usually come in costume. This popular event was created for the little ones, but theres also a costume contest for big kids too.  The end of the year brings the Children's Holiday Workshop where kids get to make holiday cards and crafts, and Santa Claus drops by.

Stantons commitment to a high quality of life and to maintaining the highest standards makes it the place you will be proud to call home. When you choose Stanton you get the best of southern California.
